A Tip to Boost Your Mood

Posted by Jessica Sims on

6 months. We are 6 months into this pandemic that I'm sure we all hoped would be over by now. With no clear end in sight, how are we going to stay sane? I ask myself that from time to time whenever I notice my mood is taking a downturn. It can be so easy to fall into a pit of despair and feel impossible to climb out. So my biggest goal right now is to avoid that pit at all cost and keep myself uplifted. Of course this can be easier said than done, but it is possible. So today I'm going ot share a tip that can help us stay afloat when the world is drowning.

 Keep Up With Self-Care

If we don't feel good physically, our mental health will follow suit and vice versa. With so much going on, we may sometimes feel like we don't have enough time for ourselves. However, if we neglect to take care of ourselves, we won't be able to take care of others. There are so many aspects to self-care to cover, but today I will just share a tip that can help you feel better in about 20 to 30 minutes.

Detoxifying Foot Soak

Toxins can build up in your body over time. It can be hard to eliminate those toxins especially when we have so many things on our plate. Thankfully, a detoxifying foot soak can help draw those toxins out of our body and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. Here is how to do it:

You will need:

  • Basin (or tub)
  • Warm Water
  • Eucalyptus Oil
  • Epsom Salt

Fill your basin with warm water. Add 10-15 drops of pure eucalyptus essential oil. Add 1-2 tablespoons of Epsom salt and stir until it begins to dissolve. Place feet in solution for minimum of 15 minutes up to 30 minutes. If solution cools, replace with warm water as needed.

During this self-care session, listen to relaxing music or nature sounds. Perhaps read a book that you enjoy. Put on a facial mask and lay cucumbers over your eyes. Take a few sips of some quality red wine. This is YOUR time, the world can wait!
